I wear many hats, have many skills and talents. Nonetheless I'm one and the same person; my authentic self !! On this page I share some of my words, wisdom, thoughts, photos, humour, work, yoga, meditations…..
How I recently experienced the power of proper breathing.

A couple weeks ago I had a root canal treatment. It wasn’t my first one ever. But for this one, I had to go to an Endodontist, a specialist for those kind of procedures. I spare you of the details.
The procedure took about two hours. I couldn’t do much, lying there with my mouth open, breathing through the nose.
And that’s exactly what I’ve done. I had my hands on my belly, focusing on deep abdominal breathing, taking the attention and focus away from my face. While I visualised healing light all around me, specially on my tooth, as well as for the Endodontist and Assistant. They did the hard work, I was just lying there.
Now in general I very seldom meditate for longer than 15…
At the beginning of October this year, a journalist from SBS Radio in Melbourne contacted me for an interview over the phone about Yoga.
It’s for SBS Radio the German speaking program. The segment within the German program is in Swiss – German (my first language), the weekly program on a Sunday night is called Echo Helvetia: interviews, portraits, stories, etc. about Swiss immigrants in Australia.
Several things inspired and motivated me do this. I practice, learn and teach a very classical, traditional style of Hatha Yoga according to the teachings of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnu-Devananda. So there is no need to re-write the yoga books. At the same time I like to keep my yoga website www.hathayogaipswich.com.au about yoga, class info, etc. Even though every so often I share other topics.
This year I started to be more active on Instagram @premamaria, sharing photos and gratitude posts. Most of these are linked to my Facebook page, some on the public Hatha Yoga Ipswich, others on my private one, or both. This makes me realise how many more thoughts, opinions, practices I like to share and not just in one on one conversations, or every now…
My intention is to add a photo or two with every post.
All these photos I take myself with my small digital camera, iPad or smart phone.
My grandfather was a (hobby) photographer. He gave me my first camera when I was a teenager, and showed me how to take photos using the zoom, etc. It was a camera with film rolls of course, all manual, nothing automatic or digital.
A few years back I did not take photos for a while. With digital and phone cameras everyone takes photos everywhere, so there is nothing special about it, unless one is a professional photographer.
But I found my love for photography again. And I discovered the different software and app to create collages and edit photos, a great way to be creative.
